Counselling Vacancies

Qualified Counsellors

If you are qualified, perhaps in employment or running a private practice but you would also like to make an important voluntary contribution to our community and help clients who are on a low income to access counselling, we would welcome your application.

We understand that some people have more time to offer than others, and any time commitment is appreciated. If you are able to see just one client per week it would help our team to reduce the waiting list and waiting times.

If you are interested, please go to our main Counsellor Recruitment Page

Trainee counsellors

We are not currently looking for any trainee counsellor placements. However, we are always keen for people to reach out to us to express their interest. Please see our main Counsellor Recruitment Page for further details.

Trustees and Members of our Management Committee

We are always interested in experienced Counsellors to contribute to the work of the Management Committee, when considering policies, procedures, issues around safeguarding, and developing our service to ensure it follows BACP and legal guidance to ensure the best provision of service for our clients.

The role includes attending meetings once every quarter, and the AGM. In addition, being involved in any discussion, developments, or arising areas of work relating to the above.

For an informal discussion,  please email volunteer@northlancscounselling.org.uk.

Chairperson

We are looking for someone with managerial experience or previous experience of working with a management committee, with understanding of the voluntary sector and charity work.

This is a very interesting and fulfilling role, well suited to someone retired or semi-retired with time and energy to spare for a good cause that vitally supports our community. This role requires the applicant to be available for approx. a day a week, although this is flexible, and at times can be more or less depending on the needs of the service.

You would not necessarily need a counselling background, but an understanding of our organisational values, objectives and ethical responsibilities is essential. Fundraising and funding application experience would be advantageous, but not essential, as we have excellent fundraisers in post. You would need to have good communication skills, to take an active overview of all areas of our work and to make sure things are running smoothly, and above all that everything we do is in alignment with our values and our mission statement.

Please apply to volunteer@northlancscounselling.org.uk.
